Trailer Hitch For A 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 6.2l V8

Question:

Hi, The manual on my new truck states 9,100 towing capacity it does NOT have max towing option. I just bought a 4,540 pound steel 24’ enclosed car trailer with 9,990 GVWR and payload of 5,450. The race car I’m pulling is 2,800 pounds and I’ll have another 300 pounds of stuff, so 3,100 payload total. The race car has the engine on the front so I believe the 10 tongue weight rule applies. I hear torsion flex hitch is the way to go but I’d love your help as this is my first time with an enclosed. I always towed my lightweight open trailer and never had any issues with sway or anything. The enclosed is coming this week and I want to purchase the colorectal hitch. Also, would you recommend sway control or should I try to tow the load first and see how it is. Any help is greatly appreciated.

We definitely have a trailer hitch for you. The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT24GR is confirmed to fit your 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTD.

The trailer hitch has an easy, bolt-on installation, and has a black powder coat finish that covers the e-coat base that offers a superior rust protection.

The trailer hitch has a maximum gross trailer towing weight up to 10,000 pounds and has a maximum tongue weight up to 1,000 pounds, which will give you enough towing/tongue capacity to tow your enclosed car trailer.

When it comes to choosing the correct weight distribution hitch you need to be as close to the tongue weight of the trailer as possible. Being way over or way under will cause more problems then not having one at all. The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA94-00-0800 has a recommend tongue weight between 400 to 800 pounds which would put you right in the correct ball park. This system has 2 integrated points of sway control that will limit the side-to-side movement of the trailer. The 2-5/16 inch hitch ball # EQ91-00-6100 is required and sold separately.

The 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket # HM40975 will eliminate the need for an adapter and allows you to tow a trailer with either a 7 or 4 pole plug.
