Parts Needed For Flat Towing a 2020 Cadillac Escalade

Question:

You helped me get what I needed for a brake controller for our new Freightliner Super C (Entegra Accolade). Now I need base plate, tow bar, brake and lights info for 2020 Cadillac Escalade. I have reviewed a couple brands that talked about cutting and modifying the grille and bumper. I would like to get something that keeps that to a minimum. Thanks

I recommend installing the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-523179-5 on your 2020 Cadillac Escalade. This will require cutting 3 holes in the lower fascia of your front bumper for the mechanical and electrical connections. The Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-676 is their best selling tow bar. The aluminum and stainless steel construction provides for superior corrosion resistance over several years of use. You may need a High-Low adapter like the 4" Adapter # RM-048-4 as the bars do require being within 3" of level from your motorhome receiver to the base plate. With this base plate installed on a Escalade with 285/45R22 tires we measured the height of the connectors at 11-1/4". You will need to measure your receiver height on your Entegra Accolade to determine if and what size adapter you will need.

The RoadMaster Nighthawk All Terrain Towing Combo Kit # RM-9284-2 will provide wiring for using your tail lights along with locks, a storage bag, cover and lube spray for the bars. You will also need the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 to ensure the supplemental braking system does not drain your battery along with a Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect # RM-766 which allows you to quickly and easily disconnect the battery for towing.

Since your Entegra is on the Freightliner S2RV chassis with air brakes you will need the Demco Air Force One Supplemental Braking System # DM26VR. This will connect to the air lines in your braking system so the brakes on your Escalade only activate when you are physically pushing on your brake pedal. This prevents any false braking when using an exhaust brake.
