No Power to Interior Cargo Lights on Trailer with 2020 Ford F-250
Question:
The interior lights do not light up in my cargo trailer when hitched to my 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty. Ford Dealer is saying the truck senses there is no battery in the trailer so it doesnt send power to it. We have friends who have all hooked up to it Dodge, 2021 Ford F-150 and the lights in the trailer work. All Fuses have are working. HELP!

The Ford Smart Tow System on the 2020 Ford F-250 won't send power to the battery charge line circuit until the vehicle is in motion and gear shifting. I am not aware of any way to change the setting for this. Therefore, your only options to use the interior lights in the trailer would be to either install an on-board battery or direct wire a battery charge line circuit from the truck battery to the trailer connector using part # DW02508-1 and part # 9510.
