Does 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Need Re-Flashed After 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket Install

Hi, I ordered the HM40975 The instruction video mentioned I might need the dealership to do a Body control module reflash and it looks like that is in fact what I need. I called my local Jeep dealer I have a 2013 Grand Cherokee and they asked if my product came with the computer code to use. According to them, there’s a couple of different codes they could attempt to use. Do you know what I should tell them?

In regards to the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket part # HM40975 which is a fit for a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee, it's just simply a trailer connector that plugs into an existing port on the vehicle. If the pins inside the connector are not active once you plug it in, I would first be sure to check the towing fuses for the vehicle in the engine bay fuse box which I have listed for you below.

J03 - 30 Amp Pink - Trailer Tow
J14 - 20 Amp Blue - Trailer Tow Lamps/Park Lamps

If the fuses are good then that is when you'd need to take the vehicle to the dealer for programming. There is no computer code for the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket as it's again, just a connector. We have had many others take their vehicle to the dealer with this installed and were able to get everything programmed without a code so maybe the dealer can do some more research to get yours in order or perhaps you may need to find another dealer with more experience.

Please note, if you just need a 4-way you can bypass this issue of re-flashing with the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118425.
