Question:
If I install a diode wiring kit to my 2013 Ford Taurus, will I also need a brake relay switch if I use a Brake Buddy as a breaking system? Your video recommends NOT using the bulb and socket kit on this car. Why?

Most likely you will also need the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400, but you'll want to go through the steps listed on the page to determine if it's absolutely needed. Roadmaster has the brake light switch wire (purple/white) listed so that usually indicates that it is going to be needed based on their testing.
This relay is to prevent the turn signal from overriding the brake signal, which is important when trying to switch lanes while slowing down or indicating that you're turning when coming up to a stop. The Brake Buddy isn't going to tie into the diode wiring so it won't be a factor here.
Bulb and socket kits are a bit outdated and Roadmaster has them listed as not a fit, so there most likely isn't enough space for the bulb to properly be installed without significant modification of the tail lights. Instead I recommend going with part # RM-15267. This diode kit is super easy to install and won't require any additional work after completion.
