Recommended Gooseneck-to-5th-wheel Adapter For A 2013 Ram 3500 Short Bed
Question:
Im looking into buying a 5th wheel rv and included in the deal is a 5th wheel hitch. The hitch is a curt e25 and comes off a 2022 Ram 2500 crew cab with short bed and has the 5th wheel prep Puck system/style hitch. My truck is a 2013 Ram 3500 mega cab with a short bed and not the 5th wheel prep I do have a gooseneck ball though. Is there an adapter that I can install to use the puck style hitch in my truck. Thanks!

There is an adapter that you can use with your 2013 Ram 3500, however there is not an adapter that will work with your existing gooseneck setup and provide pucks.
Instead, you'd be adding industry standard above-bed rails. The Curt X5 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter for Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Trailer Hitches - 20,000 lbs # C16210 will work for you if you have a standard gooseneck ball hole, and # 16310 will work if you have the square B&W Turnoverball square ball hole.
Since these rails will not provide the pucks you need, you'll have to use a different 5th wheel hitch.
If you're interested, these hitches are comparable to what you're getting:
-The Curt Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16265
& the,
-Curt A25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16180.
Both of these hitches have a 25K towing capacity, a vertical load limit of 6,250-lbs, and a height adjustment range 13"-17".
Additionally, since you are going to be using an adapter, you are going to want to make sure that you are not exceeding the 20K capacity.
