Does 12 Volt Accessory Circuit of 37185 Have to be Connected on 2004 Ford F-150

When installing part #37185 on my 2004 Ford F150, Ive already hooked up the blue wire Electric Brakes. I hear that the black wire is ONLY used to power a break-away cable with battery box, BUT my old horse trailer 1969 Merhow 2 horse bumper DOES NOT has a break-away cable with battery box. NOTE: All I need is the electric trailer brakes and the trailer lights/signal lights to function properly. With that being said, do I even need to hook up the black wire 12V line?????

Not every trailer has a need for the 12 volt accessory circuit so if you don't have a breakaway kit or interior/exterior lights you can for sure leave it off from the 7-way adapter # 37185.
