Trailer Wiring Recommendation for a Trailer Less than 80 inches Towed by a 1992 Ford Explorer
Question:
I need to wire a less than 80inch trailer into a Ford Explorer 1992/first year of production. I would like a 16 ga. wiring harness for the trailer. I would like a plug in adapter to the Ford Explorers existing/factory trailer plug. Trailer will need stop/directional, license plate light and side clearance lights - four wire system. Dont need LED lights. Can you write me a prescription from your product lines.

The Optronics Trailer Light kit # TL5RK that you referenced would be an excellent choice for you and would work very well on your trailer towed by your 1992 Ford Explorer with the only exception is that the wiring is 18 gauge instead of 16 gauge like you said you preferred.
I can assure you though that this wiring kit will work well for you and the amperage draw would not be too much for the wiring.
