Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch for 2023 Ford F-450 Super Duty with OEM Puck System
Question:
Hi. I have a 2023 F-450 8 foot bed. It has the OEM puck system and I'm hoping to eventually add a bed liner to it to help keep it in better shape. What 5th wheel hitch do you recommend and will I need to potentially do anything to the liner to still use a 5th wheel hitch?

The 5th wheel hitch I recommend for the OEM puck system on your 2023 Ford F-450 Super Duty is the Curt A25 # C16180 which connects to the pucks using the Adapter Rails # C88KR.
I really like the A25 because it has dual interlocking jaws that wrap around the king pin and provide 360 degree contact, as well as a fully articulating torsion head. With these features you get a really smooth and secure towing experience.
When it comes to a bed liner for your truck, it all depends on what exact setup you get. Something like a spray in liner or a thin carpet will likely require zero alterations but if the spray, carpet, or plastic is thicker, you might need to trim a little extra to make sure the adapter rails can fully seat into the puck system. So really it just depends on what you get. I like the spray in liners because they tend to be thinner but very durable.
