Fifth Wheel Hitch Solution for 2006 Chevy Silverado Duramax that is Lowered
Question:
I have an 06 Duramax 2wd crew cab, the truck was lowered 4 inches in the back and 2 up front, I am looking at getting a 3160L Montana 5th wheel. Do you have a 5th wheel set up to fit my truck lowered?

Expert Reply:
For a lowered truck you'd want a taller fifth wheel hitch to compensate for the reduced height of the truck. For that our tallest options would be the Curt A20 Slider part # C55DR for if you have a short bed and would need the slider's additional clearance, or if you have a long bed truck our tallest fixed hitch is the Curt Crosswing part # C68JR.
Both of these hitches can be adjusted to a height that's right at 21 inches which is about 4-5 inches more than most hitches.
You'll need a fifth wheel rail kit that fits your 2006 Chevy Silverado HD and for that you'd want the custom fit Curt part # C16418-204 and you'd be set.
