Roof Rack Recommendation for a 2019 Toyota Highlander with a Bare Roof

Question:

Hi there, according to your previous expert answer, you advise to use THKIT3134 to use on an LE to avoid the issues with not having the flush rail and single hole fixed point that is present on the XLE. The answer says that this avoids the fixed point attachment but the instructions clearly show a fixed point attachment that doesnt work with an LE with a rain channel and two bolt/saddle attachment not a flush shingle bolt.

It looks like at one point Thule did have a fit kit for the bare roof on your 2019 Toyota Highlander but that went away and so I'm guessing the expert that answered that question got confused - you are correct that they are wrong though.

For your Highlander I recommend going with the Yakima equivalent that uses clamps to secure to the door jamb:

60" JetStream Crossbars - # Y00426

The JetStream system is one of my favorite systems because the legs it fits to are adjustable so you get the best angle for your crossbars and the crossbars themselves have a rubber insert for the T-Slot that you press down to install accessories, meaning you don't have to trim anything!
