In order to pick out the correct rise/drop ball mount for towing a boat trailer you need to take a couple measurements. You need to measure from the top of the hitch down to the ground and then from the bottom of the coupler to the ground on level ground with the trailer sitting as level as possible.
Whatever the difference is will be the rise/drop you need. If the hitch is higher than the coupler measurement you will need a drop ball mount and vice-verse.
