Installation Instructions For The MORryde Safe T-Rail
Question:
The Moryde Safe-T-Rail. Im wanting to add this to our 2020 Riverstone 5th wheel. There is a piece of painted trim that I would have to cut for it to fit by the door. Is this a common issue?

Yes, that is absolutely normal and is actually mentioned in the installation instructions.
To install the MORryde Safe-T-Rail Telescoping RV Hand Rail # MR54BR you're going to need to:
-Remove the existing "Lend-A-Hand" rail. Once removed, ensure that any remaining debris is cleared away and cleaned.
-Use silicone caulk to fill the holes left behind from the prior hand/support rail (these holes will be covered by the Safe-T-Rail but need to be sealed prior to installing the rail).
-Butt the Safe-T-Rail bracket snugly against the bottom of the door and against the door frame, if a trim piece exists that needs to be cut/trimmed away, use a marking device and the edge of the Safe-T-Rail to indicate such and then remove the necessary trim.
-With the Safe-T-Rail bracket still snugly butted up against the bottom of the door frame and against the outside of the door, drill a pilot hole 2nd from the top on the upper bracket, fill the hole with silicone caulk, and install the
screw into said hole.
-In similar fashion to the previous step, drill, caulk and install a screw in the center hole of the bottom bracket. The Safe-T-Rail should now support itself.
-Remove the bolt and nylon washers from the top bracket so as to allow the railing to pivot on the bottom pin. Allow the railing to pivot toward the ground, exposing the upper and lower bracket holes.
-Drill, caulk, and install screws in all exposed/remaining Safe-T-Rail holes.
-Pivot the Safe-T-Rail back up into place, re-installing the bolt, nylon washers, and nut into the upper bracket.
-Finally, ensure any remaining bottom trim is properly secured and caulked.
If you have any questions feel free to come back and we'd be happy to help you further.
