Recommended Replacement For A Broken LaSalle Bristol Cable Actuated Waste Valve

Question:

I saw a previously answered question where Jameson C said you could use a Valterra cable to replace the cable/handle on a Bristol valve. I have a 22 Forest River NoBo 19.6 and black tank aluminum rod bent. I only want to change the handle/cable and not cut out the still new valve. Bristol doesnt sell just the cable, so it concerns me this isnt possible. If I can use the Valterra cable, then I will do that instead. If this is not possible then I will be switching brands to the Valterra cable and valve, so I have this ability in the future. Thank you

LaSalle Bristol doesn't make it so that you can replace much on their cable actuated waste valves besides just the handle so you would be better off just replacing the entire valve and cable system with Valterra's Black # TC372 and Gray # TC172. The old valves can just be unbolted and replaced with the new Valterra valves so that you don't have to cut any pipe or glue anything in.

Valterra's cable system has a little rod at the end that clamps into an exposed port on the valve to easily swap it out if one ever gets broken, whereas the LaSalle Bristol models have it completely encased in plastic so that you can't replace it and would need to purchase a whole new one.

Not sure the question was answered. Can you use a Valterra cable on a Bristol dump valve. Is it compatible on the valve hook up. Thx Dennis

@DennisT No, the connections are different between the two brands and LaSalle Bristol doesn't make their cables replaceable, you'd have to fully replace the valve.
