Does Brake Relay Kit Need to Be Installed with Flat Tow Wiring on a 1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ
Question:
Has anyone installed this on an older Jeep XJ? Should I install a brake light relay kit so that when the XJs brakes are applied they do not also light up?

The Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-152-LED is designed to wire right into the connector, like part # RM-910030-7, you'll install at the front of your 1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ so it actually bypasses the wiring on your Cherokee altogether. It receives signals and power directly from the motorhome connector.
Since this bypasses you factory wiring you won't need a brake light relay kit.
