Trailer Wiring and Ball Mount for 2023 Subaru Crosstrek Towing U-Haul Trailer
Question:
I am intending on towing a 5x8 uhaul trailer cross country in a few months and am looking into the Curt class 3 trailer here. For the ball mount, I know I need a two inch ball, but Im curious if it needs to have any or rise given the height of the crosstrek and the uhaul receiver both of which I do not know. Also, is the wiring connection required for the 5x8 uhaul trailer? Thanks

The rental trailer will require a 4-way connector so for your 2023 Subaru Crosstrek you'd want the part # C56040 which installs very easily. U-Haul states that the coupler height of their trailers is right at 18 inches so since we know the hitch height of the Curt # C13382 you have installed is right at 15-1/2 inches you'd need a rise of 2-1/2 inches like with what the Curt # C45155 would be perfect for. It even comes with the ball mounted.
