Parts Needed to Add 7-Way Wiring to 2022 Volkswagen ID.4
Question:
Hi, I have a 2022 VW ID.4 Pro S RWD that I want to add a 7-pin blade connector to. Unlike AWD ID.4 models, this RWD has has NO trailer wiring at all. So I would need a 7 blade connector, wiring and whatever protects the vehicle wiring and battery. Can you tell me what specific products I should order?

Since you don't have any wiring the first thing you need to add to your 2022 Volkswagen ID.4 is a 4-way. There is no custom fit wiring so you need a universal wiring harness like the Curt # C59236. Once installed, you can add the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. This kit comes with the adapter, wiring, circuit breakers, and everything else you need to upgrade to a 7-way.
Since this is an EV I recommend taking it to a professional for installation. You don't want to risk damaging the wiring or sensitive electrical components on your vehicle. If you choose to install it yourself make sure you connect to the 12V battery and not the main vehicle battery.
