Is an extension advised for a 17 foot boat?

One 17 foot boat is the maximum length for the Yakima Rack and Roll trailer # Y08107. I would try it out without an extension to see if there is going to be any issues. You will probably want to use a 17 foot long stand-in for the boat just in case when you test it out.
If you do need the extension it is # Y08109.
