Recommended Hitch for a 2023 Ford Explorer
Question:
Does the etrailer hitch e29YR fit the 2023 Explorer?
asked by: Doug
Expert Reply:
Yes, it does. The etrailer Hitch item # e29ZR is confirmed to fit all models of the 2023 Ford Explorer. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Ford with included hardware. I really like this hitch because the crossbar is completely concealed behind the rear bumper and the 2" receiver is all that is visible. This not only gives you a better appearance but also helps with ground clearance.
This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a 6,000 lbs towing capacity, and a 600 lbs maximum tongue weight. It is made in the USA and weighs 46 lbs.
I have linked an installation video below along with a couple of pictures so you can see what this hitch looks like once installed.
If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C56093 and a ball mount kit item # C45534.
