Will Kodiak Disc Brake Kit Fit a #84 Standard Spindle
Question:
connor says distance between hub face and brake flange is not important. not true. Im thinking of converting a 3500 axle from drum to disk brakes. If a typical 72 inch wide trailer, mine for example, has an 85/870 axle, will kodiack kr235d brakes fit? no information is useless. this measurement seems standard for any given spindle. im guessing the tru77fr and the tru74fr have the same distance from hub face to brake flange. kodiack could provide clearance specs... but they dont. id love to buy their product but they may not fit an 85/70 axle. please help. thanks and smooth sailing

In the answer page you're referring to Conner didn't say the hub face to brake flange is useless. He said measuring from brake flange to brake flange (from one side to the other) isn't really helpful when choosing a replacement axle. The 2 most important measurements are hub face and spring center distances.
With that being said, the replacement spindles # TRU77FR and # TRU74FR will have matching distance from the hub face to the brake flange because they are both modern #84 spindles so the specs are the same. The only difference between these designs is how they install to the axle tube.
The Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2R35D is designed to fit a #84 spindle so it will work with either spindle mentioned above.
