How Far Down Does a Front Trailer Hitch Hang for Ground Clearance on a 2006 Dodge Ram
Question:
Will this receiver mounted on a 2006 Ram 4x4 ,5.9 diesel with 17 inch tires cause me to lose too much clearance ? How about on the Curt pn # C31017?

Expert Reply:
Once installed the Draw-Tite front hitch # 65046 will have the receiver just about directly under the front bumper. Measure down from the front bumper 2-1/2 inches on your 2006 Dodge Ram and that will be the approximate location of the lowest part of the hitch (which is the bottom of the receiver).
The Curt front mount hitch # C31017 will have the receiver slightly higher but still under the front bumper so it would be roughly the same. I have linked the isntallation instructions for both hitches for you.
