Question:
So.... Trailers have 2 safety chains correct? I have a 10,000lb trailer do I need 2 separate 5000lb capacity chains or 2 10000lb capacity chains? As the trailer sits from the manufacturer I have 2 chains 1/4inch Grd. 70 w chains is this adequate? Thanks

Yes, trailers will have 2 safety chains which helps to keep the trailer centered. For 1/4" grade 70 chain the standard is for it to have a working load limit of 3,150lbs. Since the WLL is 1/3 of the break strength the chains you have are sufficient as your 10,000lb trailer does not exceed the 18,900lb break strength of the 2 separate chains.
