What is Needed to Tow 5th Wheel & Gooseneck on 2023 Ram 3500
Question:
I have a 1 ton Dooley, 2023 ram. I would like to have the option of towing either a fifth wheel or a gooseneck trailer. I don’t have either right now, but I want the option and flexibility. Is it best to get a gooseneck, and add an adapter? Or to get a fifth wheel and add an adapter?

To have the flexibility to tow both a 5th wheel trailer and a gooseneck trailer with your 2023 Ram 3500, what you'll need is from B&W, their Turnoverball gooseneck and the Companion 5th wheel hitch that can mount in it. The correct parts are the following, and you'll need either a fixed hitch if you have a long bed or sliding hitch for a short bed:
- B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch & Installation Kit for B&W Companion # BWGNRK1320-5W
- Long Bed: B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3500-5W
OR
- Short Bed: B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # BWRVK3400-5W
This will give you everything you need to tow either a gooseneck or 5th wheel trailer. The Turnoverball gooseneck is the premier hitch in the industry, and the reason for that is the square base that encompasses the hitch ball, ensuring stability. But when you want to instead tow your 5th wheel trailer, just remove the gooseneck ball and the Companion will mount directly in the square hitch hole.
The only other thing you may need if you don't have it is a 5th wheel wiring harness, the 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Wiring Harness # A10-7010.
