Recommendations for Carrying 2 Pungo 120 Kayaks on a 2011 Ford F-150
Question:
We own 2 Wilderness Outfitters Pungo 120 kayaks. Can we use this rack or do you offer a model that can accommodate 2 kayaks? Mounting to a 2011 Ford F150. Thanks

You may be able to use the Darby Extend-A-Truck Kayak Carrier, # DTA944-968-924, to carry both kayaks at once, but you will want to make sure that the kayaks will fit on the crossbars of this system. The hitch mounted extension has a 48 inch wide crossbar. With your kayaks placed side by side, you will want to make sure the bows or sterns will fit on a 48 inch wide crossbar. Also, the distance between the hitch mounted extension and the roof crossbar will be the length of your truck bed plus up to 2 or 3 ft depending on the cab style of your truck. This may not be a problem for you, but you will want to make sure your kayaks will fit with the crossbars that far apart.
If they will not fit on the Darby system, then I recommend looking into the Yakima Outdoorsman 300 Ladder Rack, # Y01136-Y00410. This rack uses the 66 inch round Yakima crossbars and you can space them as close or as far apart as you would like on your truck bed rails. You could mount the kayaks directly to the crossbars or you could use kayak carriers.
