Can the 4-Way Trailer Wiring Harness be Routed Permanently to the Outside of a 2007 Honda Odyssey

I am installing this item on a 2007 Honda Odyssey. In the video it shows you to store it in the Jack compartment and then let it hang out rear hatch when in use. Is there anyway that I would be able to have it on the outside of my vehicle at all times. I am wanting to connect it to a 7 blade system that I have on the hitch, but would prefer to have it hooked up and ready at all times and not have to have it hanging out rear hatch when needed.

What you can do on your 2007 Honda Odyssey is try to find a grommet at the bottom most part of the cargo area in the back. You will most likely have to remove trim panels and flooring to get to the bare metal of the storage area. The bottom of the jack storage compartment or the spare tire well are good places to look for a grommet.

If there is a grommet then you can cut a slit in it and run the 4-Way end through (though you may have to cut the 4-Way end wiring in half and splice it back together inside the vehicle to get it to fit through the grommet). You will then need to seal up the grommet with silicone.

If there is no grommet then you would have to drill a hole using a hole saw through the bottom of the vehicle, being careful of what is on the other side of where you are drilling. Them you would need to find some sort of rubber grommet or plug locally and again seal up everything once you have routed the wiring.
