Dimensions of Curt Class III Receiver Hitch # 13322 to Clear Aftermarket Exhaust of 1999 Siverado
Question:
The previous owner of my truck had dual exhaust exiting out the rear put on my 1999 Chevy Silverado. I know he had a hitch on the truck as all the wiring is there for towing. Im concerned about whether the hitch will fit around the exhaust. The Curt 13322 hitch looks like it will work, but I was wondering if I could get some measurements. Ill try to explain what Im looking for the best I can: 1 What is the distance from the mounting flange to the top of the round bar? 2 What is the distance from the mounting flange to the bottom of the round bar? Im trying to determine if there is enough distance betwen the frame rail and the exhaust for the hitch to slide through. I hope this is clear enough for you to understand what Im looking for. I have attached a photo so you can see how the exhaust is running. Im thinking the Curt is my best option as it appears that the round bar angles down from the mount thus allowing more room for the exhaust to fit under it. Thanks

My Curt representative tells me that the distance from the top of the mounting flange where it would mount to the underside of the frame member to the top of the crossbar where it meets the side flange would be 2-3/4 inches. The crossbar is 2-1/2 inch round tube stock, so the distance from the top of the mounting flange to the underside of the crossbar at the side flange is 5-1/4 inches. The drop of the hitch, which is the distance from the mounting flange to the top of the crossbar at the receiver is 5-1/2 inches. You can see these dimensions by referring to the provided photo.
