Troubleshooting a Roadmaster Sterling Tow Bar that the Arms Quit Locking
Question:
I bought this used about a year old and used it a couple of times but with problems that the shaft is real stiff pulling out and it always has black streaks of something. I also have trouble with the arms staying locked while traveling. I need some help .

It sounds like your Roadmaster Sterling Tow Bar part # RM-576 needs to be taken apart and cleaned thoroughly. I spoke to my contact at Roadmaster and he said that most likely there is a pretty large accumulation of carbon, dirt and other road grime in the arms of your tow bar and that is preventing the locking mechanism from working consistently.
