Options For Replacing An Atwood AT82543 Surge Brake Actuator

Question:

Good afternoon, I wanted to confirm whether there were parts available or a replacement for an Atwood surge brake actuator P/N AT82543. I bought this actuator from eTrailer in 2017 but have been unable to locate it on the website. Thanks for the help!

I do have a solution I can offer you, but the Atwood AT82543 is no longer available. It was discontinued back in 2017.

The closest option we have to replace your Atwood 82543 actuator is part # DM72VR. However, it doesn't have the reverse lockout like your Atwood does. You can add a reverse lockout by adding part # T4748800. This is a reverse lockout and requires your vehicles trailer connector to have a reverse circuit. If your vehicle has only a 4 flat trailer connector, you can use the # C57187 to add on a reverse circuit and upgrade to a 5 flat.

@Greg Hey Greg. The Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator # DM72VR does not have a lockout. You can add one by using the Reverse Lockout Solenoid # DM11993.
