Is it Possible to Carry a 2 inch Bike Rack on a 1-1/4 inch Hitch
Question:
Can I use a 1-1/4inch to 2inch Hitch Adapter ? My bike rack is 2inch . My rack is about 50lb and lets say my bikes are 25lbs each so as long as I stay under 200 lbs I should be ok? Thanks!

The thing about hitch adapters and hitch extenders is that they reduce the rating of the hitch by 50%. So if you had the Draw-Tite, part # 24787, that has a 200 lb tongue weight capacity you would only have 100 lbs of tongue weight capacity if you were to use an adapter.
Based on the weight of your bikes and rack that would put you dangerously close to the capacity. If you decide to go ahead with this setup I would recommend the use of a stabilizer strap like part # 18050 to help the hitch handle the additional leverage of the hitch adapter. I attached a review video to show you to use the strap.
For an adapter you could use a Hitch Adapter part # HTAD.
