Recommended Suspension Enhancement For A 2019 Ram 1500 Bighorn 4WD

Question:

I would like information for options for rear suspension on a 2019 Ram 1500 crew cab Bighorn 4 wheel drive. I am pulling a toy hauler camper with a dry weight of 4800lbs. Right now when hooked up to my truck it really squats. Looking for options. Thanks

Ram's will naturally squat a bit more because of the rear coil springs, but if you're dealing with a lot of squat then air springs would be the best option to help get you back to factory ride height. Coil air springs, like the # AL60828HD, that you were looking at will offer a bit of help but really don't make as much of a difference compared to regular air springs.

Instead I recommend the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with Internal Jounce Bumpers # AL88375. These air springs have a 5,000lb capacity to help offset the tongue/pin weight of your trailer. They include internal jounce bumpers so that if you ever had a leak you'd still have some support to help maintain ride quality.

I've attached a short video below where Shane will show you the difference these air springs can make and walk you through the installation process.

If you'd prefer to have an on-board air compressor to adjust the pressure while on the go then I recommend also picking up the Air Lift WirelessONE Compressor System for Air Helper Springs # AL25980EZ. This compressor uses U-bolts to mount to the frame for an easy, no-drill installation. It comes with a remote to monitor and activate the system as well as Bluetooth capability so that you won't have to run any lines into the cab of the truck or install an analog controller.
