Recommendation for Allowing Clearance To Open Truck Tailgate When Attached To A-Frame Trailer Jack
Question:
I would like an A frame trailer Jack that is easily removed or low enough to allow the tailgate of my pickup to be lowered

I have a recommendation for you as the Ultimate Trailer Jack # 322-RDJ-2K you found is our best solution for moving the jack out of the way for a tail gate. Instead it is much easier to switch to a ball mount with a longer shank like the Brophy # BH20. This ball mount is 13-1/4" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball mount hole. Most ball mounts are only 8" long so you can measure your trailer to determine if this is going to give you the distance you need to still use your tailgate without moving the jack.
If you have a weight distribution hitch the Shank # EQ90-02-4500 is roughly 6" longer than a traditional shank. This can be used with a hitch having vertical mounting holes spaced 1-1/4" on center.
