Swing Away Hitch Adapter Recommendation for EasyFold XT to Clear 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rear Door
Question:
Would either the Yakima back swing or the Kuat pivot extender work with a Thule Easy Fold XT bike rack? I have a jeep wrangler with 2 inch receiver and would like to be able to swing the bike rack away from the back of the jeep so that the rear door of the jeep could fully open. Is either more heavy duty or would work better with the Thule Easy fold rack? The Thule has that spring pin that goes into the hole in the receiver as part of the Easy fold.

The Yakima BackSwing # Y02483 and Kuat Pivot 2 # PVP20B are both great designs but I prefer the Pivot 2 because it's slightly easier to use and it can open up more than 90 degrees if the need arises. I've installed and used both, and the Pivot 2 design has yet to be beat.
The official word from Thule will be that using either of these "none Thule-approved" adapters will void the warranty of the EasyFold XT # TH903202 so you'll want to keep that in mind. The parts will fit together just fine, it's just Thule's way of keeping their backside clear from having to mess with any warranties.
