Question:
Our son has an older model Honda CRV and a full suspension mountain bike with an unusual s shaped frame. We cant make out from the photos how the non-conventional framed bikes mount on the rack. The photos look like theyre suspended below the horizontal bar of the rack, resulting in the bike tires being very low to the ground. Is that right?

For alternative frame bikes like your sons you would need to use an adapter bar, # HRBA-PRO. I have included a picture showing how it works. Basically one end clamps around the handlebar gooseneck, the other end around the seat post. This creates an artificial top tube to mount the bike on a hanging rack.
This method creates a more level mount for the bike so you will not have one wheel dipping close to the ground.
