Does Yakima Roof Rack For 2013 Toyota Prius Require Professional Install
Question:
Hello! I have a 2013 Prius hatch back with a moon roof. Your website shows the 2013 Toyota Prius Roof Rack by Yakima would be the correct match for installation for my 9.5 plastic kayak. I would have it installed by our mechanic or should I go to the Prius dealer? Im a 66 year old female. What would you tell your mom or favorite aunt to do here?

I would tell them they could do it and not to bother with spending money to go to a mechanic or the dealer. Do you have a measuring tape of some sort? If so, that's it regarding the needed tools to install the Yakima rack on your 2013 Toyota Prius. So no tools are needed, it's light as a feather, and all you have to do is some measuring to get it installed.
I am 1000% confident this is something you can do on on your own in about 30 minutes without any assistance. The correct fit for the Yakima rack on your '13 Prius is the following:
- Yakima JetStream Crossbars - Silver # Y00428 or Black # Y00425
- BaseLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars # Y28TR
- Fit Kit # Y06117 (You will need to order a quantity of 2)
I also wanted to mention I do recommend considering locks to lock the rack to your Prius and help protect your investment; you can add those with the Yakima Same Key System (SKS) Lock Cores # Y07204.
