What is Needed To Repair an Incorrect Installation Of a MaxxAir Fan On Trailer Roof
Question:
Do you sell the rubber flange outer seal separately I bought a pop up and previous owner didnt install this vent correctly. In effort to figure out why and where its leaking I cut out the rubber cover, Can I buy that gasket . flange and the sealant you use? The White part is 16.25inch and the vent is 14inch square +/- a hair. Please advise and thanks you

The correct way to install your MaxxAir roof vent is with the Roof Vent Install Kit # 344270KITW. This kit includes butyl tape which goes between the roof vent flange and the roof. It also includes screws for securing depending on your roofs construction. The self-leveling sealant will then cover the edge of the vent flange as well as the screws to prevent water from leaking into the camper. Over time as the sealant cracks you can remove any damaged sealant and put new Sealant # 34427034145-1 over the remaining old sealant and fill any voids from the removed portions. We do not carry any rubber mounting flanges for this fan as it is not the best way for installing a roof vent.
I recommend using a MaxxAir FanMate RV and Trailer Roof Vent Cover # MA00-955003 over your fan since it will attach easily to the raised tabs already on your vent. The vent will help keep the suns UV rays off the sealant and allow it to last longer.
