Can A Powered Lift Vent Function On An RV Roof Vent Be Wired To A Switch For Activation

Question:

Hi. We just purchased a 2021 Grand Design Reflection 297RSTS. In the bathroom there is a double switch, 1 for fan and 1 for bathroom light. The cover lift of the fan is manual but we are under-tall and too short to reach it. Can the MaxxAir electric lift fan be put in the bathroom and the fan switch currently installed open the cover and turn on the fan? Or do each powered items need a separate switch? Thank you.

The switch on your wall is only turning the power on and off for the fan. With a powered lift there wouldn't really be a way to tap into the function and wire it to a switch to make it easier to access. The only option would be to replace the current vent with one that has a remote to activate the lift function, like the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-07500K. There are also certain models (MaxxFan Plus: 4751KS or 4951KS and MaxxFan Deluxe 8751K or 8951K that can use wall mounted controls like part # MA00A03550K.

Either of these options would allow you to easily lift and lower the vent lid with the push of a button.
