Recommended Hitch for a 2024 Lexus NX 350h

Question:

My 2024 Lexus 350h has the rear bumper ‘kick’ function, which opens the rear hatch when you feign a kicker under the rear bumper. I’m told that the rear bumper must be removed to install a trailer hitch. Can you enlighten me further?

I would be happy to! The rear bumper does not need to be removed to install a hitch on your 2024 Lexus NX 350h. I checked with our vendors and the only hitch that is currently confirmed to fit the 2024 model is the Curt item # C33NR.

The Draw-Tite item # DT82QR you were looking at most likely fits but we don't know for sure because we haven't tested it on a 2024 NX 350h. Additionally, Draw-Tite got bought out at the beginning of the year and they are way behind on their 2024 vehicle fitment.

As far as the kick function goes, what happens with vehicles like yours is that the receiver's for the hitches block the sensors right around the center of your bumper. What you'll need to do is kick to the left or right of the receiver to find a spot that isn't blocked. This is a common problem amongst the mid-size SUV's.
