How To Wire A Trailer With A 4-Pole Wire Harness
Question:
Hi...my trailer has red/white running from each taillight. The tow vehicle has brown/green and yellow/green. Also white wire. How do these connect for proper operation?

Expert Reply:
To know the functions of the wiring you'll have to put power to them to see what they do. If your trailer doesn't have brakes then you'll just need to get your light signals to pass from the tow vehicle to the trailer, which can be done with a 4-pole wire harness like part # A25W2GWB. This wire harness will get wired in the following manner:
White - ground
Brown - tail lights
Yellow - driver side stop/turn
Green - passenger side stop/turn
