Replacement For A Dexter 8-249 Hub And Drum Assembly
Question:
Current Dexter brake drum/hub is marked as follows: 8-249, MTA 1, 10inch on a 3,500 LB AXLE. Please let me know what part number I need to order to replace one of my brake drum/hubs on my Load Trail carhauler trailer with tandem axles with a GVW of 7,000 lbs. Thank you.

To replace your Dexter 8-249 hubs, I recommend using the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-550-35-EZ-K. This is the Axle-Tek brand equivalent of your Dexter 8-249 hub/drum. The hub will include your bearings, seals, races, grease cap and lug nuts.
