Finding the Serial Number on a Roadmaster Sterling Tow Bar to Use Adapter for Blue Ox base Plates
Question:
I found two numbers on my tow bar. The first, I believe is the model number is #002867. The second, which I cant read completely is #RB0707708???. I want to make sure Im using the correct number so I can order the correct adapterabove or below 16,500.

Expert Reply:
I spoke with my contact at Roadmaster about how to find the serial number to get the proper adapter to use with the Blue Ox base plates. You will need to spread the 2 arms apart on the tow bar and then look for the sticker where the two arms come together. That is where you should find the serial number.
For serial numbers above 16,501 you will need adapter # RM-031-5 that you have referenced.
For serial numbers up to 16,500 you will need adapter # RM-031.
