Do I Need a Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch for a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 w/ a 6-3/4 Foot Bed?
Question:
I have a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 with a 6-3/4 Foot Bed and the puck system. Do I need a sliding hitch?

Yes, you do. Since your 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 has the shorter 6-3/4' bed you will need to use a sliding 5th wheel hitch to avoid running into your rear bumper or smashing you back window when turning.
I recommend the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider item # BWRVK3775. This sliding 5th wheel hitch has a 20,000 lbs capacity. It will give you 12" of travel from front to back when you are making tight turns. The slider base on this hitch mounts directly to the pucks in your Silverado's bed. It does not require the use of an adapter.
I have linked an installation video below that will show you how to get this hitch set up.
The B&W Companion 5th Wheel Hitch item # BWRVK3710 you were looking at does fit your 2024 Silverado. However, unless you're using a rotating pin box I do not recommend it for your 6-3/4' bed truck.

I THOUGHT SINCE THEY MOVED THE HITCH MOUNTING POINT BACK AWAY FROM THE CAB YOU DONT HAVE TO USE A SLIDER. I HAD CUSTOMER USE ONE IN HIS 23 SILVERADO 6.5 BED AND IT HIT HIS TAILGATE WHEN HE SLID IT BACK. B&W IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND IT IS THE CONSUMER RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THERE IS CLEARANCE.
