for my 2023 Jeep Gladiator do I need a smart diode kit for lighting or not? Your thoughts?

If your 2023 Jeep Gladiator is equipped with ParkSense then yes you would need a diode lighting kit with smart diodes like the part # RM63MR. If not, you could use regular diodes like the kit part # RM-15267.

ParkSense is the alert system that uses sensors on the front and rear bumpers to alert you if you are too close to an obstacle.
