Can Reese 5th Wheel Base Rails Be Installed on a 1989 Truck with a Flatbed
Question:
I have an 89 SQUAREBODY with a western hauler bed , im looking to put reese 5th wheel rails on but going thru your site seems to keep coming up with OBS body style . Can you help with the right part ?

Since your truck is equipped with a flat-style bed, standard base rails like the Reese you're talking about won't fit. The only solution we have for your application is the B&W gooseneck hitch and Companion 5th wheel:
- B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Flatbed Trucks # BWGNRK1500
- B&W Companion Flatbed Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # BWRVK3050
This requires you to remove your current 5th wheel and gooseneck setup but it's the only solution I know of on the market to keep you towing with your '89 truck.
