Parts Needed to Add Brake Controller to 2012 GMC Canyon With Factory 4-Way
Question:
I have a customer with a 12 GMC Canyon 4wd. He says he already has a 4 way flat and hitch. He wants a brake controller hard wired in. I already have the Pro series 80500. What do I need to wire this in?

You will need to add a 7-way to install the # 39523 (80500) on the 2012 GMC Canyon. If the 4-way at the back is plugged into a round US Car connector behind the bumper you can add a 7-way using the # HM40975. If it is an aftermarket 4-way, or attached using a different connector, you will have to add a 7-way using the # ETBC7.
Since it is a hardwire installation you will also want the Pigtail Wiring Harness for Tekonsha and Draw-Tite Brake Controllers - 34" Long # 7894. This will plug into the connection on the 80500 and give you some extra wire to make your connections in the cab of the truck.
