Is Reese Steadi-Flex or Dual Cam II a Better Weight Distribution for a 2023 Forest River Alpha Wolf
Question:
2023 Chevy Colorado LT and a 2023 Forest River Alpha Wolf I have used the Reese Dual Cam system with a different truck and trailer in the past and really liked it. My trailer’s actual weight is 6800 lbs and actual tongue weight is 900 lbs. I feel the Reese Dual Cam II is either too light 8,000 lb or too heavy 12,000 lb. So I am looking at the Reese Steadi-Flex 10,000 lb. My question: How does the sway control ability of the Steadi-Flex compare to the Dual Cam II? Does the Steadi-Flex provide less, same, or more sway control? Thanks.

Thanks for all of the info, Scott!
I highly recommend going with the 12K Reese Dual Cam II Weight Distribution System w/Active Sway Control # RP75FR over the 10K Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control # RP66559. Even though it might seem like overkill, the number we are more concerned with is the tongue weight range of the system as opposed to the gross towing weight - and the 12K system will include your 900 lb tongue weight so you'll still be good to go!
With the 12K system you'll not only get a higher rating to use for potential larger trailers, but the sway control will be much more reliable as well. The Steadi-Flex has the friction pads on it which help are designed to help with the sway control but the problem is that these can wear down unevenly and then start to make the sway control a bit inconsistent which is why the Dual Cam II is the better option.
