Hi, Your web details about this product: Kuat Pivot 2 Swing Away Hitch Extender for Bike Racks - 2 Hitches - Drivers Side Item # PVD20B. details say Using this hitch extender will reduce your hitchs overall capacity by 50 percent” Does this mean the tongue weight capacity is reduced? eg if 500 llbs down to 250 llbs ? Hey Keith, yes the Kuat Pivot 2 Swing Away Adapter part # PVD20B that you referenced does cut the tongue weight capacity of the hitch it is installed in by 50 percent due to the additional length that gets added to the rack. So if you had a 500 lb hitch the capacity would then be 250 lbs which happens to also be the capacity of this hitch adapter.
