Hey there Jeff, thanks for the question and I can definitely get you all the parts needed to flat tow your 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 behind your motorhome. I'll go ahead and list everything out for you to make it easy to order.

- Base Plate Kit: etrailer Classic Base Plate Kit # e98959

- Tow Bar: etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e94ZR

- Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267

- Roadmaster Battery Disconnect # RM-766

- Supplemental Braking System: Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - RV With Hydraulic Brakes # SM99251
OR
Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System - RVs With Air Brakes # SM99243

- Towed Vehicle Battery Charge Wire Kit for Demco Supplemental Braking Systems # DM66VR

The etrailer base plates are a fit for your Silverado and the accompanying XHD tow bar is really nice because it has a 10,500 lb capacity (which is the extra oomph we want since your truck will have a golf cart in it). It also has a long 52" reach which allows your Chevy to track behind your motorhome better than bars with shorter arms, and comes with

The diode wiring kit will prevent any type of electrical feedback to keep your Silverado's electrical system safe, and then the switch with the battery disconnect will make that a simple process.

As for the braking system, the Stay-IN-Play DUO is easily the best because it gives you braking proportional to that of your motorhome. So when you hit the brakes on your motorhome, your truck is going to get the same amount of braking power, resulting in much smoother braking than other systems. Then the battery charge line will help keep your battery charged, even as it's disconnected.

Thanks Kyle, The list looks good. I am concerned that the following base plate looks to have only one bolt holding it to the frame of the truck. Could you please recommend a different base plate that has more than one bolt holding it to the frame? Base Plate Kit: etrailer Classic Base Plate Kit # e98959 Thank you Jeff

@JeffM Sure thing, there is a base plate kit with more than one bolt, the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1710. You'd also need a different tow bar, the Blue Ox Alpha 2 # BX7380.

Thanks Kyle S, All of these parts have been purchased and installed in my 2014 Silverado and are working great! I took it for a test drive today and my Silverado almost touches my motorhome on tight turns. I think I need a 12 inch hitch extension. Which extension would you recommend? This is the tow bar I purchased: - Tow Bar: etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e94ZR Thanks Jeff M

@JeffM Glad to hear everything is working great! There's one option for a 12 inch extension which is the Hitch Extender for Tow Bars # BX88264. Also, I'm guessing you'll likely need extensions for the safety cables with that extension as they probably won't reach far enough. You may want to measure to be sure you need them, but if so use Safety Cable Extensions # DM9523065.
