How to Add Base Rails to 2001 Ford F-250 With B&W Gooseneck Hitch Installed

Question:

I currently have a BW Gooseneck Turnover on my 2001 F250. And I am looking to get a universal rail kit for a fifth wheel is there a kit compatible to have both the preexisting gooseneck and a new rail kit for a fifth wheel? Thanks in advance.!

The best way to add rails to your 2001 F-250 is the Demco 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter for B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitches # DM6140. This drops into the B&W Turnoverball gooseneck hitch giving you industry standard rails. There are some limitations, mostly pertaining to sliding hitches, which I will add below.

Do not use this adapter with the Demco Hijacker Autoslide hitch or any other automatic sliding fifth-wheel trailer hitch.
Do not use this adapter with a B & W Patriot slider fifth-wheel hitch.
Demco Hijacker 5th-wheel hitches manufactured before 2012 do not fit industry standard universal rails.
When using this adapter, you may have to remove the safety chain loops from your gooseneck hitch if they are mounted front/back rather than side to side.
