Can Class U Tire Chains be Used on a Vehicle that Calls for Class S Chains

Question:

The titan chains say they are Clare U, but my manual says use only class S. Will thsee chains still do the job?

Class S chains are designed for vehicles with more restricted clearances in the wheel wells. Class U chains are for vehicles with more wheel well clearances. If your owners manual calls for Class S you would not have the clearance for a Class U chain.
