Choosing Between Leer and BAK MX4 Tonneau Cover for 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Question:

Shopping for a folding hard tonneau cover for a 2024 Silverado 2500HD with the 6’ 10” bed that’s on the way. Looking at the Leer hard cover and the BAK MX4. What are the pro / con of each cover. Priorities are: 1. Security 2. Keeping bed contents dry 3. Manufacturer response to warranty issues FYI current truck has a Retrax retractable cover. It is a very secure cover but it can freeze shut in the winter and water leaks past the rail the cover slides in. The drain tubes also plug up and constantly get in the way packing stuff into the bed.

Hi JD; if I had to choose between the Leer Hard Tonneau Cover # LE67FR and BAKFlip MX4 # BAK448133 I would go with the MX4. As far as security goes both are locking covers so it will be about the same between the two. The MX4 has seals and drain tubes while the Leer only has seals. For the warranty, BAK offers a 5-year warranty compared to a 3-year from Leer.

I'm not sure how either of them responds to warranty issues but I can tell you when we have questions about products that require help from the manufacturer BAK is easy to reach as well as helpful and knowledgeable. Leer has been very difficult to reach and the only reason I get good responses from them is because I eventually got a direct contact.
